GALERIE ANGE BASSO
The gallery
Since 2010, Galerie Ange Basso, located on Rue de Seine in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, has championed vibrant, free, and bold contemporary art, with a special emphasis on urban art. It presents major historical figures of the movement, including Blek le Rat and Invader, as well as artists who extend its spirit and renew its forms.
From stencils to mosaics, and from painting to sculpture and screen printing, the gallery highlights singular universes and images that have become iconic. Its programming creates a dialogue between the pioneers who transformed the street into a creative space and the talents opening new perspectives.
A place for discovery, encounter, and transmission, Galerie Ange Basso supports both collectors and enthusiasts in a direct and sensitive relationship with the works. Each exhibition carries a conviction: urban art occupies an essential place in the history of contemporary art and continues to write some of its most vibrant pages.
The project
Galerie Ange Basso brings together two pioneering figures of street art in a single booth: Blek le Rat and Invader. A master of the stencil, Blek le Rat has turned the street into a space of expression where his silhouettes offer a sensitive and engaged perspective on our society. Invader populates cities with pixelated mosaics, transforming the street into a playground inhabited by pixelated characters that have become iconic. Through a selection of their editions, the gallery creates a dialogue between these two universes: the graphic strength of the stencil and the inventiveness of the mosaic, the poetry of the gesture and the spirit of play. This encounter invites viewers to discover how two immediately recognizable languages have contributed to writing the history of urban art and extend their presence in the city onto paper.
