Galerie Alain Gutharc
The gallery
Established in the Marais district of Paris on rue Saint-Claude in 2006, Galerie Alain Gutharc continues to support artists both through regular monographic exhibitions and by presenting them in contexts outside the gallery.
Faithful to the idea that a work of art is built up over the years and cannot be summed up in a passing fad, we believe that this role of accompaniment is essential. With this traditional approach to the gallerist's role, we believe we are contributing to the diversity of proposals and questions that reflect our times.
The gallery thus pursues its quest to discover young artists, often enabling them to hold their first exhibitions and confronting their work with that of artists of recognized quality.
Wishing to diversify the offerings for young collectors, the gallery recently initiated a program of multiples by inviting each of our artists to create works in multiple editions.
"Signature" would thus be an opportunity to present this new facet of our practice.
The project
Léonard Bourgois Beaulieu, whose solo exhibition is currently on view at the gallery, will present a photograph taken at the Villa Medici and printed from a negative that had deteriorated after lying forgotten for about ten years. This work goes beyond the bounds of traditional photography and borders on painting. His images reveal the close relationship between memory and its fading.
Two series of Digigraphies enhanced by Edi Dubien will be presented in a comprehensive exhibition featuring all 25 prints that comprise them. Visitors are thus invited to select a unique multiple while considering the artist’s body of work as a whole.
Laurent Goumarre offers us a deeply poetic vision of an intimate and emotional world through small-format pearlescent prints.
Suzanne Husky, who is particularly well known for her work on reintroducing beavers to restore waterways and wetlands, offers a collection of quotes that serve as slogans to inspire us to take an active role in preserving the natural world.
For this art fair, Kris Knight released a new silkscreen print that is characteristic of his artistic style, in which light accentuates the model's sensuality.
Philippe Million will be at the booth with a pedestal table and a vase. The simplicity of their constituent elements evokes a world that is familiar to us, yet—when placed within the realm of design—raises questions about our relationship with the objects in our environment.
