Opened in September 1986 with an exhibition by François Morellet, Oniris Gallery has, over time, become one of the leading venues for contemporary art in Brittany. In 2026, Oniris Gallery celebrates its 40th anniversary!

Under the direction of Florent Paumelle since 2012, the gallery has maintained a balance between established artists and a new emerging generation, sharing a common conceptual language. This approach makes it possible to present innovative works while respecting the foundations of painting and abstraction that have characterized the Oniris gallery project since it was opened in 1986 by its mother, Yvonne Paumelle.

For nearly four decades, the core philosophy of the Oniris project has remained the same: to regularly exhibit recent works by an evolving group of around thirty artists, including renowned figures such as Vera Molnar, Norman Dilworth, Aurelie Nemours, Geneviève Asse, Christian Bonnefoi, Alain Clément, Philippe Cognée, Jean-Pierre Pincemin, or Claude Viallat, and others to be re/discovered.

For this first edition, Oniris Gallery is spotlighting the editions of Atelier Fanal, whose activity is now coming to an end after several decades of commitment to printmaking and Concrete art.

Since its creation, Atelier Fanal has supported many artists associated with Concrete art and geometric abstraction, offering them outstanding technical standards and expertise recognized internationally.
The prints produced in Basel—both rigorous and luminous—stand out for the precision of their lines and the accuracy of their colors. They have played a major role in bringing these artistic movements to a wider audience beyond a small circle of insiders.
Through an exclusive selection of works produced over the years, the proposed exhibition pays tribute to this singular publisher: a loyal companion to artists and a tireless explorer of the possibilities of printing.
Building on a long-standing collaboration with Atelier Fanal, Oniris Gallery invites the public to rediscover this precious legacy: a world of forms and colors, at once rigorous, sensitive, and timeless.
